Calendula petals or marigold are a popular flower used as an offering in temples in India. However, they are equally useful in the kitchen. With a  bright yellow colour and mild flavour, their dried or fresh petals are added into herbal teas, or used as a final garnish in sweets. Calendula petals can also be used to add visual appeal to home-made tea blends, potpourri and in the bath. They have a mild herbal character and are usually valued as much for appearance as for aroma. They keep their colour and quality if properly sealed.
