It is a more potent form than the powdered versions. It is used for making spice mixes, herbal preparations, pickles and traditional recipes.It can be added to boiling milk and used in case of cough and other respiratory conditions.  We sell this in hygienic packs, that won't give you any freshnes issues if stored under proper conditions.
