Spicemart Star Anise is a beautifully shaped whole spice, shaped like a star. It is the fruit of Illicium verum, an evergreen tree, found in India, Vietnam and China. Our anise pods are hotter, pungent, bitter, and much more “liquorice-like” as compared to the European star anise. You can use this spice whole or ground or even powdered. It is an active ingredient in garam masala and also used in other masalas. It can be added whole in oil or toasted dry to extract the flavour then removed before serving. You will need just a little and mostly use it with cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and other whole spices.
Sealed product is handled on premises that processes milk, nuts (including peanuts), seeds (including sesame seeds & mustard seeds), cereals, celery, soya & gluten.

Can't fault this at all. The flavour is so much better than what I've had from the supermarket. Five stars, no hesitation.
This is exactly what a spice should taste like. Fresh, fragrant, and clearly good quality. Highly recommend to anyone who cooks regularly.
This exceeded my expectations. A little goes a long way, great value really. Will definitely be ordering again.
I've reordered this three times now. The flavour is so much better than what I've had from the supermarket. Highly recommend to anyone who cooks regularly.
