Organic Star anise is a star-shaped fruit of Illicium verum, an evergreen tree that is native to North-eastern Vietnam and South-western China. Our natural and Organic Anise star pods are hotter, pungent, bitter, and much more “liquorice-like” than the European anise. These are so versatile that they can be used whole or ground if desired and just a little needs to be used. It is an ingredient in the warming Indian spice blend, garam masala, and also used in Masala chai. It goes well with tomato based sauces and is also commonly used with meat and egg dishes.
Sealed product is handled on premises that processes milk, nuts (including peanuts), seeds (including sesame seeds & mustard seeds), cereals, celery, soya & gluten.
