SpiceMart Cream of Tartar is a white powder with acidic nature and is a byproduct of the winemaking process. Also called potassium bitartrate, it is used in baking and confectionery. It has many uses, one of them being to stabilise whipped egg whites, improve meringues, prevent sugar crystallisation in syrups and sweets, and act like a raising agent along with soda bicarb. Cream of tartar or potassium bitartrate is a natural by-product formed during winemaking and then refined for food use. It is also useful as a non-toxic household cleaning mixtures, but when using in food, always keep it stored clean and dry.
Sealed product is handled on premises that processes milk, nuts (including peanuts), seeds (including sesame seeds & mustard seeds), cereals, celery, soya & gluten.
