Black Cardamom Pods have a mild, pleasant and calming aroma, which is bold and smoky. Cineole and limonene oils with smoky compounds come through during drying of these pods. These are used whole or coarsely pounded releasing their bold citrusy and sweet flavour. It is rich in antioxidants, aids digestion, reduces blood pressure, and is useful when chewed to reduce bad breath. A staple in many traditional recipes and a part of garam masala and tea masala, these pods are perfect for elevating hearty meals.
