The recipes require the rice to be slow cooked in milk, until it almost blends with the milk release starch to create a rich, smooth consistency. Add sugar, cardamom, cinnamon, vanilla, raisins or nuts for a yummy treat. A simple ingredient which gets you the same taste of traditional kheer when you have a festive occasion or guests.
