Organic Kibbled Bay Leaves are crushed forms of dried bay leaves. They have a warm, earthy fragrance and are added during cooking to build depth and fragrance. During the cooking process, you can then keep the whole leaf or fish it out after infusing the taste of the leaves. Also called Tejpatta, this broken, crushed, or cut form increases the surface area, releasing a lot more flavor into your dish. We recommend using them directly if grinding into a spice powder and with a cheese cloth when adding to curry, which can be removed later. Use sparingly, as bayleaf has a strong flavour that develops over time.
